Tiny West Wight hamlet near the magnificent medieval manor of Mottistone. Also nearby on the top of Mottistone Down is the ancient Longstone, reputedly the site of past and present satanic rituals such as Morris dancing at dawn on May Day.

Delightful country pub, over which, many battles have been fought. After a public meeting, the planning application to turn the pub into a private dwelling was refused. Now with new tenants, there are plans to build a dining extension that will seat seventy-five and allow the pub to flourish into the foreseeable future. Special events include barbeques  in the summer and curry evenings in the winter.  There is also a quiz every other Sunday. Very pleasant garden, especially in the summer, when the borders are alive with colour.
